Introduction

Nowadays, there is a big impact of media on the children as they are spending more time on mobile and television that is influencing their behavior significantly. It is assumed that the focus on the digital media has also affected the study performance of the children at a large extent. In relation to this aspect, the researcher also assumes that the more children are exposed to the digital media including games and television, the worse they will score. It is because due to spending more time on digital media, they will spend less time for reading that will hinder their development in reading. So, this journal paper is aimed to determine the use of digital media as an influencing factor for the performance of the children on reading tests at the end of primary schooling. It will provide descriptive statistics and conduct a suitable statistical analysis method i.e. regression analysis to explore this area and draw meaningful findings to reach a conclusive decision.

Data

For the undertaken study, researcher collected data of 240 children on random basis who are 11 year olds. For this sample, researcher collected the child’s score on a reading test and the time spend with digital media per week in hours.
